About the Cover

Cover Figure

To investigate several functional residue sites in GPCRs that are related to coupling selectivity, position-specific profile analysis was conducted by using multiple sequence alignments of the Class A GPCR family. Functional residue sites in G q/11-coupled receptors are mapped onto the tertiary structure of rhodopsin, and are displayed with blue CPK-type side chain. The left-hand figure represents rhodopsin structure viewed from the intracellular side. The right-hand figure shows the side view of rhodopsin. The upper part is the intracellular side and the lower part is the extracellular side. See Statistical Analysis and Prediction of Functional Residues Effective for GPCR-G-Protein Coupling Selectivity by Muramatsu and Suwa, pp. 277–284.
