About the Cover

Cover Figure

MCP-1 (green) is a chemokine involved in leukocyte recruitment in response to injury or infection. Residues important for binding to CCR2, a MCP-1 receptor, are shown in red. The antibody 11K2 (yellow and blue) binds MCP-1 in a binding site distinct from that of CCR2. The inhibitory effects of 11K2 on MCP-1 activity are due to steric interference of CCR2 binding by 11K2, rather than direct competition for a shared binding site. See Structure activity relationships of monocyte chemoattractant proteins in complex with a blocking antibody by Reid et al. pp. 317–324.
